Sam’s Spares is a registered not-for-profit charity & Social Enterprise Co-Founded by Samuel Thomas, an Autistic man with Tourette Syndrome whose lived experience shapes everything we do.
We create meaningful employment for neurodivergent individuals through the refurbishment and responsible reuse of donated IT technology, reducing electronic waste while building real workplace skills, confidence, and long-term opportunity.
Our NEW G1G1 Model
G1G1 – Get One, Give One is Sam’s Spares’ NEW one-for-one matched giving model.
When someone purchases an eligible refurbished device from Sam’s Spares, we refurbish and donate a second device of the same quality and specifications to someone in genuine need, free of charge.
Every G1G1 device, both the one purchased and the one donated, is refurbished through paid, meaningful National Award Wage employment pathways for neurodivergent individuals, ensuring dignity, fairness, and sustainability are built into every transaction.
This model allows Sam’s Spares to move beyond short-term charity and operate as a values-led social enterprise, ethical, accountable, and built to last.

New Statewide OPTUS Partnership
We are incredibly proud to announce a new statewide partnership between Sam's Spares and Optus through the Donate Your Data Program.
Through this partnership, eligible recipients of Sam's Spares devices will now receive a FREE Optus SIM with 20GB of data, plus unlimited standard national calls and text every 35 days!
What makes this program truly special is that it's powered by everyday Australians. While Optus provides the foundation of 20GB every month, customers donate their unused data, bringing the average monthly allocation to around 60GB. It's a powerful example of community helping community.
Optus has already provided more than 600 mobile broadband dongles and 100 SIM cards to help launch this partnership and start connecting Western Australians immediately.
